What Do Ammanford Lions Do?
The principal aim of Lions Clubs is to provide help and funds to those in need, whilst enjoying the satisfaction, fellowship and fun that can be derived from taking part. Lions Clubs are dedicated to improving the quality of life for those less fortunate people in our community.
The Lions Club of Ammanford provides direct service to our community by organising regular Litter Picks but our main activity is raising funds for Charitable Purposes. For further details of some of our events please see our Club Projects page
Our members also participate in various direct service activities and enjoy a social calendar which includes dinners, a quiz night and other social occasions where the principal aim is to have fun and enjoy ourselves.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who can join Lions Clubs?
A: You must be of legal majority (over 18 years old), have good moral character and a good reputation in your community.
Q: Do I have to be a business person or similar to join?
A: No, not necessarily. This is a common misconception. You just need to be an ordinary person who wants to help others less fortunate than ourselves.
Q: How do I become a member?
A: Come along to some of our meetings and events and if you like what you see, you can be invited to join. If you would like to come to a meeting, please let us know and we will arrange for you to be greeted on your arrival.
Q: Is it expensive to be a member?
A: No. All monies given to charitable causes is raised from public donation either through activities or direct donation. The members pay for the general running of the Club and annual dues but this is not expensive.
Q: Do I have to commit a lot of my spare time?
A: Not unless you want to. We only meet once a month, however, we do have to arrange several events per year so you will need to help in preparation and will need to be present to help on the day.
Q: Do Lions enjoy being members?
A: Yes! We enjoy spending time with like-minded people and work well together. We work hard at raising much needed funds and enjoy doing it.
Q: How do I join?
A: That’s easy. Just phone the number on our “Contact Us” page.
