Critical Bleed Control Kits Project

Critical Bleed Control Kit Being Installed at Margaret Street Defib Box on Tuesday 31st March 2026

Our new project for 2026 is raising funds to install Critical Bleed Control Kits in Defib boxes across Ammanford, Betws and Llandybie. We launched our project on 31st March 2026 with the installation of eight kits around the area.
The kits, designed to treat severe bleeding before emergency services arrive, are now publicly accessible in the event of traumatic injuries.
Ammanford Lions Club have funded five kits and, so far, three others have been sponsored as follows:

  • Jim Woodall Builders
  • Computer Don’t Byte
  • A member has sponsored a kit in memory of her late husband.

The bleed control kits are sourced from the Daniel Baird Foundation and contain military-grade equipment to control life-threatening bleeds.
They can be used in a range of emergencies, including road traffic collisions, workplace accidents, dog bites, impalements and glass or knife wounds.

Ammanford Lions Club hopes to install a bleed control kit in every defibrillator box in the region and is calling for further sponsorship.

Sponsoring a bleed control kit costs £100 but individuals can also make donations of any amount to support this initiative. Please use the PayPal donate button below to make a donation via either PayPal or a credit card.
